i've written 18 or so songs from 2001 until 2011, there all on the bottom of my music page, in those days i used cakewalk sonar as my DAW, with the mediocre midi soundfonts it came with, to produce my
songs. i wrote produced and sung all the lyrics on those songs .it was a tough grind, but a labor of love. some of the songs would take 4 months or more to complete. i learned how to play the piano and read sheet music back in 1994. and i used the sheet music part of sonar to enter notes individually in some cases, apart from some areas of a song where you could copy and paste sections, to write my songs. then you would assign violins orchestras banjos guitars drums etc etc to the musical segments you created, in order to produce your
song. it was all tedious and laborious, but as i say, a labor of love.
and in the songs i produced i put a lot of effort to still make my songs sound, the best that they could, given what i had to work with.
then in 2024 i discovered Ai, another tool at my disposal to make my songs sound as good as they could be. this reignited a fire in me to take my original songs that i had written and produced in cakewalk sonar to the next level. so using my own material created by me,
i went on a quest to recreate my songs, as close to my original work as i could, with my own lyrics and music written and sung by me.. the 7 songs i used Ai to recreate my music are, [sleep alone] [ Mississippi] [thanks] [you cut your love] [feeling fine] [strangers] and [shadows] my own sonar versions are all listed under [original] .
